The UAE accounts for 31.5 percent of the total number of hotel projects in various stages of construction and planning in the Middle East, which reached 631 projects, according to a report issued by Top Hotel Projects.<The report showed that Dubai topped the region's cities in terms of the number of hotel projects, which reached 142 projects with 43.41 thousand hotel rooms.
Riyadh came in second place with 41 projects with 9586 thousand rooms, and Jeddah in third place with 37 projects with 9139 thousand rooms, according to the report.<The number of hotel projects under construction in Ras Al Khaimah reached 17 projects with 5468 rooms, and in Abu Dhabi 15 projects with 2610 of various categories.
The report indicated that the top 3 hotel projects under construction and development in the region are located in Dubai, namely Ciel Dubai, which will open in 2023 and will be the tallest hotel in the world when completed.It will offer 892 rooms and 150 suites in a 365-meter tower in Dubai Marina, while the Paramount Tower Hotel & Residences Dubai will open in the first quarter of next year and the 64-story tower will house a 787-room hotel, while the 579-room Millennium Place GVT Dubai will open in the third quarter of this year.
