Transportation Minister Saleh Al-Jasser said that the railway linking Dammam, Jubail, and Ras Al-Khair is currently under construction, and he expects it to open before the middle of next year.

Al-Jasser added in an interview with Al-Ikhbariya TV that there is a rail network project within the city of Jubail to connect the city’s large factories with the ports of Jubail and Dammam and with the national network.

He explained that the land bridge—a railway line connecting the western and eastern parts of the Kingdom—is one of the most important national strategic projects for transportation and logistics.

He noted that the bridge consists of a railway line connecting Yanbu to King Abdullah Economic City, the Port of Jeddah, and Riyadh, with the project including the upgrading of the existing line from Riyadh to the Eastern Province, as well as a number of logistics cities.
