Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef said that his ministry has a plan to convert 4,000 factories from heavy reliance on expatriate labor to digital automation within 5 years.
In previous statements, Al-Khorayef said that the ministry seeks to build a stimulating industrial environment for small and medium enterprises, noting that small and medium factories have accounted for more than 80% of the total new industrial licenses since the beginning of this year.The ministry seeks to activate the role of SMEs and entrepreneurship through three main roles: building a stimulating industrial environment for SMEs, activating the growth of SMEs, encouraging entrepreneurial thinking in the industrial sector, and building a comprehensive system to serve entrepreneurs and those wishing to invest in industry and mining.
