Growth in investment funds 7 offerings raised the public value of shares during the third quarter to SAR 21 billion

The value of initial public offerings (IPOs) rose by approximately 21 billion riyals during the third quarter, with seven offerings, bringing the total for the period so far this year to 12 offerings, compared to four offerings during the same period in 2020, according to a report and data from the Capital Market Authority. This increase in the pace of offerings is in line with the Authority’s strategy, which aims to deepen the capital market and strengthen its role in capital formation.

Rise in Foreign Investor Ownership of Stocks

The Capital Market Report, which covers most financial market indicators, a reference to the increase in the value of foreign investor holdings in the main stock market for the third quarter of 2021 by 8.2% compared to the previous quarter, and by 52% compared to the same quarter of 2020.

Rise in the Value of Public Fund Assets

The Authority’s report today highlighted the quarterly statistical bulletin for the third quarter of 2021, which covers Saudi financial market indicators during that period, showing a clear increase in the asset values of public funds for the third quarter of 2021 by 22% compared to the same quarter of 2020, reaching approximately 240 billion riyals, This was accompanied by an increase in the total number of participants in public investment funds, reaching approximately 446,000 participants by the end of the third quarter of 2021, an increase of 11% compared to the previous quarter, and a 25% increase compared to the same quarter of 2020.

Growth of Private Funds

Among the indicators reflected in the bulletin regarding investment funds, the value of private fund assets grew by 4% in the third quarter of 2021 compared to the previous quarter and by 30% compared to the same quarter of 2020, reaching approximately 286 billion riyals. Meanwhile, the number of individual investment portfolios rose by 8% compared to the previous quarter, reaching more than 10 million portfolios.
