The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZTA) has released the draft amendments to the executive regulations real estate transaction tax for public, private sector and government entities through a “survey platform.”

Through the draft amendments, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority aims to clarify the date of payment of the tax in some of the transactions, in addition to expanding the scope of the exception regarding the gift, and clarifying some important items related to those who are covered by the tax and those who are exempt from it, and the Authority specified that the public consultation will end on December 29, 2021.
