Real Estate Contributions Committee instructed to stop receiving new complaints

Liquidation of the Real Estate Contributions Committee

Posted in

Directives have been issued instructing the Real Estate Contributions Committee from accepting any new complaints regarding contributions falling within its jurisdiction, unless such a complaint relates to a contribution already under its consideration based on a previous complaint filed prior to the issuance of Cabinet Decision No. 130.

The directives stipulate that complaints regarding real estate contributions not currently under review by the Real Estate Contributions Committee fall within the jurisdiction of the specialized judicial authority, while the Real Estate Contributions Committee is to provide the Ministry of Justice with a list of real estate contributions currently under its consideration to ensure there is no duplication in the review of complaints related to those contributions.

The directives also required the Real Estate Contributions Committee to prepare a plan to liquidate the contributions under its jurisdiction within a period not exceeding one year from the date of approval of the plan, and the Minister of Municipal, Rural, and Housing Affairs, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Real Estate Authority, may extend that period by an additional year. The plan must include a mechanism for handling the Committee’s assets, allocations, documents, facilities, as well as its property and employees, and their transfer to one or more counterpart entities that will benefit from its expertise. This shall be done in coordination with the Ministry of Justice, the General Real Estate Authority, the General Authority for State Real Estate, and the Support and Liquidation Center.

The Commission shall submit the plan to the Council of Ministers within a period not exceeding thirty days from the date of this decision for approval and implementation.
