The number of associations registered in the Mulaak Program has exceeded 20,000 associations from the program’s inception through the end of February 2022, with these associations comprising more than 150,000 real estate units across all cities and regions of the Kingdom. He explained that the growth rate in the number of newly registered associations exceeded 800% compared to January and February of 2021.

This is part of ongoing efforts to contribute to the advancement of the real estate sector, promote a culture of coexistence, and protect the rights of owners and occupants of jointly owned real estate units, and increasing home ownership among Saudi families in shared residential communities to reach a 70% ownership rate by 2030, in line with the targets of the Housing Program—one of the programs under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

In a press release, the program explained that the increase in the number of owners’ associations came as part of efforts to streamline the procedures for owners of jointly owned properties to register their units electronically, activating and approving them electronically, as well as addressing the challenges faced by some associations, which has led to greater interest among residents of jointly owned units in establishing homeowners’ associations.
