“Statistics”: Unemployment rate for Saudis fell to 9.7% for the second quarter of 2022

The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) released today the Labor Market Bulletin for the second quarter of 2022, which showed that the unemployment rate for total Saudis decreased to 9.7% for the second quarter of 2022, compared to 10.1% in the first quarter of 2022.

The total unemployment rate (for Saudis and non-Saudis) decreased to 5.8% compared to 6% in the first quarter of 2022. The overall unemployment rate (for Saudis and non-Saudis) decreased to 5.8% compared to 6% in the first quarter of 2022, and the unemployment rate for Saudi women for the second quarter of 2022 decreased to 19.3% compared to 20.2% in the previous quarter.

The survey provides estimates and indicators related to the labor force for the working-age population (15 years and above) residing in the Kingdom, estimates of the population (inside and outside the labor force) as well as calculating the most important labor market indicators such as the unemployment rate, labor force participation rate and others.
