It was revealed that the Support Program for Tenants in Default that it has paid rent subsidies—“rental support”—for more than 48,000 enforceable judgments, totaling over 120 million riyals, during 2022, by providing support to tenants in default whose contracts are registered through the electronic rental services network “Ejar,“ by automatically settling overdue payments through electronic services shared with the Ministry of Justice.

The program explained in a statement that delinquent cases are automatically forwarded from the Enforcement Court after a judgment is issued, to be reviewed by the Central Committee—composed of representatives from (the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing; the Ministry of Justice; the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development; the Ministry of Interior, and charitable organizations) to determine the type of support and provide it within a period not exceeding 30 days from its referral by the Enforcement Court.

The program aims to provide social protection to vulnerable groups, as an extension of the efforts of the Housing Program—one of the programs Saudi Vision 2030—which aims to provide support to the most needy families and raise the homeownership rate to 70% by 2030.
