Dubai achieved the first place globally in the “Tourism Spending Intensity” index, where the average spending of tourists in the emirate is 4668 dollars per inhabitant in Dubai, far ahead of the second place city of Barcelona, at 2793 dollars per inhabitant, followed by Singapore at 2639 dollars per inhabitant.

The MasterCard World Tourism Cities report predicted that the total spending of international tourists in Dubai this year will reach $11.7 billion, a growth of 7.4%, thus maintaining Dubai's ninth place globally, which it achieved last year in the MasterCard International Tourist Spending Index.
