Data released by the Saudi Central Bank “SAMA” confirmed that total assets rose in May to 1.872 trillion riyals ($498 billion), compared to 1.864 trillion riyals ($496 billion) during the same month last year, representing an increase of 7.47 billion riyals ($1.98 billion).
On a monthly basis, the assets of the Saudi Central Bank rose by 2.72% compared to April 2023 levels, which stood at 1.822 trillion riyals ($485 billion).
The “Investments in Foreign Securities” category, which accounts for approximately 54.15% of the Saudi Central Bank’s total assets, by 7.92% to 1.013 trillion riyals in May 2023, compared to 1.10 trillion riyals in the same month of 2022.
In contrast, the “Deposits with Banks Abroad” category by 19.65% in May to 363.74 billion riyals, compared to 304 billion riyals in May of last year. This item accounts for 19.43% of the Saudi Central Bank’s total assets.
