The Saudi Geological Survey will bring together leaders of geological survey agencies from around the world, as part of the Third International Mining Conference scheduled to begin on January 9 at the King Abdulaziz Center in Riyadh; with the aim of strengthening direct cooperation and coordination among countries in geological surveying to achieve common goals.

The CEO of the Saudi Geological Survey, Engineer Abdullah Al-Shamrani, explained that this important international gathering of leaders and heads of survey agencies from countries around the world focuses on leveraging international capabilities in the field of geological surveying and mineral exploration, exchanging views and proposals to address the challenges facing geological survey work and mineral exploration, and developing necessary solutions for sustainable practices, in addition to identifying available geological potentials among countries.

He emphasized the Authority’s efforts, through this gathering, to unify perspectives on bridging the geological survey gaps faced by agencies to enable growth in the field of exploration, provide adequate quantities of minerals to meet global demand and needs, identify priority areas for surveying and funding sources, and access reliable geological data to attract investment in mineral exploration and production.
