During the past period, the Municipality of the Holy Capital has issued (200) compliance certificates in a number of locations and neighborhoods in Makkah, after the Municipality recently launched an initiative entitled “Together Towards Compliance”; with the aim of urging citizens to quickly issue a building compliance certificate before the end of the corrective period.
February 16 is the end of the corrective period to address violations
The Municipality noted that the corrective period for addressing violations extends until February 16, 2024, after which it becomes mandatory for all buildings located within the roads specified in the interactive map of the certificate of compliance in the “Baladi” application, stressing that the scope of application of the requirements of the “Building Compliance Certificate” applies to existing buildings, while new buildings will be automatically issued, to contribute effectively to the development and humanization of the Kingdom's cities, based on the keenness of the Municipalities Agency in the Municipality to raise the quality of life in various areas and neighborhoods of the Holy Capital.

She pointed out that the initiative started in its first phase in the scope of Al-Otaibiya sub-municipality, and will include all municipalities, by equipping mobile field vehicles fully equipped to provide the service of issuing the certificate of compliance; in addition to the awareness role it plays through the specialized staff, to clarify the required procedures and the method of issuing the certificate, where the procedures manual “Building Compliance Certificate” includes 19 violations that buildings must be free of to issue the certificate.
The Municipality called on the owners of the buildings to be free of them to issue the certificate. The Municipality called on owners of commercial and residential buildings and usufruct owners to address all elements of visual distortion of buildings in accordance with the procedures manual, and to quickly issue the “Building Compliance Certificate” and take advantage of the corrective period set by the Ministry, through the “Baladi” application or through any of the available means.
