Architecture and Design Authority launches “Design Studio Award” for graduation projects

Celebrates the graduation projects of Bachelor of Architecture and Design students inside and outside the Kingdom; applications are open until June 30, 2024.

Launched by the Architecture and Design Authority the “Marsam Design Award” to celebrate outstanding bachelor’s degree graduation projects in the fields of architecture and design by Saudi male and female students at universities and colleges inside and outside the Kingdom, as well as non-Saudis within the Kingdom. It includes both those expected to graduate during the current academic year and those who graduated during the previous three academic years.

The “Marsam Design Award” is part of the Architecture and Design Authority’s efforts to discover talent and motivate creators across its diverse fields, within the framework of the major development initiatives led by the Authority in its various sub-sectors

This award is part of the Competitions and Awards Initiative, one of the Authority for Architecture and Design’s strategic initiatives. The award targets outstanding graduation projects in the academic disciplines of architecture and design, including: architecture, environmental architecture, urban design and planning, interior design, industrial design, and graphic design.

The award aims to highlight outstanding graduation projects in the academic disciplines of architecture and design, and to foster competition among architecture and design students to raise the quality of projects in the sector, while providing opportunities for students through collaboration and networking in the field, highlighting the significance of their work, and supporting and developing students and emerging professionals in this field.

Entries for the award are evaluated based on several pillars and criteria, namely: creativity in design, feasibility and ease of implementation, innovation in the idea, social impact, quality of presentation, and sustainability.

Architecture and Design Authority to support and promote the award’s outcomes by showcasing the best projects in an accompanying exhibition that offers numerous career opportunities and networking with stakeholders and experts in the field.
