Saudi cement companies sold 3.56 million tons last month

Sales fell 4.6% from June 2023, exports fell 22.3% and production fell 3%.

Data released by Yamama Cement Company showed that the sales of Saudi cement companies witnessed a significant decline during June 2024, reaching 3.56 million tons, down by 4.6% from the same month in 2023.

According to the data, total cement sales (domestic deliveries and exports) fell to 3.56 million tons, compared to 3.73 million tons in June 2023. Domestic cement sales fell 3.6% to 3.4 million tons from 3.53 million tons in the same month last year, while exports fell 22.3% to 157,000 tons from 202,000 tons in June 2023.

Sales of Saudi cement companies witnessed two divergent trajectories, with 9 companies facing a decline in sales, while 8 others achieved growth.

Northern Cement and Yamama Cement topped the list of companies that saw a decline in sales, with sales falling by 53% and 25%, respectively, compared to the same month in 2023.

In contrast, Umm Al-Qura Cement and Medina Cement emerged as the best performers in terms of growth, with sales increasing by 67% and 37% respectively over the same period.

Yamama Cement topped the list of companies in terms of quantities sold, with sales of 429 thousand tons, while Qassim Cement came second with 354 thousand tons. Northern Cement recorded the lowest sales with 30 thousand tons.

On the production side, total cement production in June 2024 decreased by 3% to 3.7 million tons, and inventory decreased by 1.3% to settle at 1.3 million tons.
