Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Haqeel inspected yesterday, during his visit to Taif Governorate, the progress of work in a number of development projects supervised by the governorate municipality, to follow up on the latest developments in many municipal and residential projects.
Minister Al-Haqeel met with the Governor of Taif, Eng. Minister Al-Haqeel met with the Secretary of Taif, Engineer Abdullah bin Khamis Al-Zaidi, and the leaders and officials of the Municipality, where he was briefed on the strategic transformation plans, targets and municipal indicators, and reviewed the achievements and challenges in development projects and urban and housing development plans and urban sustainability in the governorate.
His Excellency was briefed on the achievements made in projects to address visual distortion, flood risk prevention and rainwater drainage, asphalting and lighting projects, roads and public parks. He also reviewed the most prominent achievements and targets to achieve integration with the private sector and increase their participation in enhancing the services provided and benefiting from investment opportunities in the governorate.
He also discussed the progress of infrastructure enhancement projects, development projects and the urban development system within the “Humanizing the City” program, in addition to the development plans to improve the quality of municipal services provided to the population. He also reviewed the operational performance indicators, current challenges and ways to address them, where he stressed the importance of continuing efforts to improve the quality of services by preparing and developing infrastructure and improving the urban landscape to enhance the experience of citizens, visitors and tourists.
Minister Al-Haqeel met with several investors and businessmen in Al-Raddaf Park in Taif Governorate, where the meeting discussed the investment opportunities provided by the ministry in the municipal and housing sectors within the development programs and initiatives aimed at achieving the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, noting the facilities provided by the ministry to investors to stimulate investment in the sector.
Minister Al-Haqeel also met with several investors and businessmen in Al-Raddaf Park in Taif Governorate. During his visit to Taif, the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing met with HRH Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Taif, and discussed municipal projects and initiatives, which aim to humanize the city, enhance the quality of life for residents and enrich the experience of visitors and tourists, and discussed economic incentives to contribute to creating new investment opportunities and taking advantage of the qualitative advantages enjoyed by Taif to support the developmental, economic and tourism movement and develop the business environment.
Taif. Following his meeting with His Highness the Governor of Taif, His Excellency witnessed the signing of several memorandums of understanding between Taif Municipality and several investment companies to establish a number of commercial, tourism, environmental and service facilities, and the signing of a number of community partnerships between third sector organizations.
It is noteworthy that the visit of the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing to Taif Governorate comes as part of a series of inspection visits he conducts in various cities, governorates and regions of the Kingdom, to review the projects, initiatives and programs of the Ministry in the municipal and housing sectors, and to see the progress of work in development projects.
