His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Jawf Region, today inaugurated and laid the cornerstone for municipal projects of the regional municipality with a total value exceeding one billion riyals, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail.
This took place during a ceremony to inaugurate the projects, organized by the Al-Jawf Municipality in the city of Sakaka.
His Highness the Governor of Al-Jawf Region expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister —may God protect them—for the generous support and allocations provided to Al-Jawf and all regions of the Kingdom through charitable budgets, to complete development and service projects, and to provide citizens with comfort, a dignified life, and well-being.
His Highness congratulated the inauguration and laying of the cornerstone for the new municipal projects, which are an extension of the wise leadership’s support for enhancing the quality of life and development programs in the region, noting that the progress and development of cities are measured by municipal planning, whether in parks, roads, or the urban landscape.
For his part, His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing said in his speech on this occasion: “What we are witnessing today—the inauguration and laying of the cornerstone for strategic and pioneering projects worth over one billion Saudi riyals—includes projects currently under implementation valued at more than 602 million riyals, and others completed in 2023 worth 131 million riyals, in addition to laying the foundation stones for 42 projects worth over 300 million riyals, as well as the handover of a number of residential units to beneficiaries and the signing of community partnerships, all of which serve as a vivid reflection of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and a direct link to the Ministry’s work, represented by the municipal secretariats, which strive to make our cities sustainable cultural hubs that enhance citizens’ well-being and provide an integrated urban environment.
He added: Furthermore, the investment contracts worth more than 256 million riyals signed for 2023–2024—numbering over 875—reflect our firm belief in the importance of partnering with the private sector to drive development.
During the ceremony, the Al-Jawf Urban Observatory’s online portal was launched, housing units were handed over to beneficiaries, community partnership agreements were signed, and a number of organizations were honored.
