Last Monday, Nakheel Real Estate signed three contracts worth 2.4 billion dirhams ($653 million) for construction and development work on the Nad Al Sheba project, a new mixed-use residential community, The project will include the construction of more than 1,500 villas and hotel apartments.

The project will be built in three packages by UAE-based companies: “Trojan General Contracting,” “United Engineering & Construction LLC,” and “Metak General Contracting.”

Nakheel Real Estate said in a statement that Package 1 of the project was awarded to Trojan General Contracting to establish the infrastructure for the main community and construct 489 villas at a cost of 830 million dirhams. Package No. 2 of the project, with a cost of 789 million dirhams, was awarded to United Engineering Construction LLC for infrastructure works and the construction of 482 villas. Package 3 of the project will cost 781 million dirhams and has been awarded to Metak General Contracting for infrastructure works and the construction of 468 villas.

The project will be built on an area of 2.5 million square feet, featuring extensive landscaping and gardens. Nakheel Real Estate stated that the Nad Al Sheba community will include 1,439 homes for rent or ownership, each consisting of three to five bedrooms, as well as a resort complex comprising approximately 100 villas featuring high-end amenities. all of which will include private swimming pools, sports courts, a communal swimming pool, a clubhouse, and a retail center comprising approximately 30 stores and a café.

The project is expected to be completed in early 2018.

Guests and residents of the detached villa complex, with its high-end services and amenities, will enjoy exclusive access to an additional range of premium facilities and services, such as a spa and health club, a swimming pool and wellness center, a restaurant, a private dining villa, housekeeping services, and laundry services.

The Nad Al Sheba project is one of the latest additions to Al Nakheel Real Estate’s growing portfolio in the rental, hospitality, and retail sectors. Al Nakheel also has more than 15,000 new residential units for rent under construction, including 1,400 units in the Nad Al Sheba project and 10,000 units in the Jebel Ali Gardens project, which Al Nakheel Real Estate launched at the Cityscape International exhibition last week, in addition to 17,000 residential units currently available for rent.
