Steel prices diverge, electrical wires and cables rise in September

The prices of steel in the Saudi market witnessed a remarkable variation during last September, while the prices of electrical wires and cables recorded varying increases, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Statistics Authority on the average prices of goods and services.

On the other hand, the price of rebar (10 mm) decreased by 0.2% to 2829.99 riyals, and the prices of iron (12 mm), (14 mm) and (16 mm) witnessed slight decreases ranging between 0.4% and 0.5%, bringing the price per ton to about 2710 riyals.

With regard to the prices of rebar (10 mm), the price of rebar (8 mm) decreased by 0.1% to 2788.39 riyals per ton. <Regarding the prices of electrical wires, the bulletin indicated that their prices increased in general, as the price of electric wire (2.5 mm) increased by 0.9% to reach 1.19 riyals per meter, while the wire (4 mm) increased by 1.2% to 1.75 riyals per meter. Prices of wires of other sizes also increased by percentages ranging from 0.3% to 1.1%.

The price of cable (35 mm) increased by 0.8% to 63.48 riyals, and the price of cable (300 mm) increased by 0.6% to 542.62 riyals per meter.

These fluctuations in the prices of steel, wires and wooden cables come as part of the ongoing effects of global and local markets, amid expectations of future changes that may affect the construction and industrial sectors in the Kingdom.
