Project ”The Line" is part of Saudi Vision 2030 and is considered one of the Kingdom’s most ambitious projects. It was announced in January 2021 and will be implemented within the city of Neom, which aims to diversify the Kingdom’s economy and reduce its dependence on oil.

The Line stretches 170 kilometers, and is considered a new model for sustainable cities relying on modern technology. The project aims to create a community free of cars and traditional streets, thereby reducing carbon emissions and enhancing quality of life, The project also aims to significantly reduce carbon emissions by eliminating car use and reducing reliance on non-renewable energy, It also seeks to improve quality of life and provide an integrated and healthy urban environment. In addition, the project contributes to strengthening the economy by creating new job opportunities and stimulating economic growth in the Kingdom.

The project consists of four interconnected main components: First, the urban structure, which is designed to strike a balance between nature and infrastructure with a focus on preserving the natural environment; second, technology, which includes the use of artificial intelligence to facilitate daily life and self-driving transportation; third, sustainability, as the project relies on 100% renewable energy, along with the recycling of water and other materials; and finally, the economy, which aims to attract global technology and entrepreneurial companies and strengthen the knowledge-based economy.

Finally, the »The Line” project represents a landmark step in redefining urban life and reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position as a global leader in sustainable urban development.
