Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced the entry into force of amendments to the Labor Law effective today, Wednesday, 20/08/1446 AH, corresponding to 19/02/2025 AD, based on the Cabinet’s decision dated 02/02/1446 AH, pursuant to the Royal Decree dated 02/08/1446 AH, with the aim of enhancing job stability and improving the efficiency of the labor market to meet the needs of the private sector.
The new amendments include revisions to 38 articles of the law, in addition to the deletion of 7 articles and the addition of two new articles, thereby contributing to the development of contractual relationships between employers and employees, safeguarding their rights, and creating a more attractive and stable work environment, in line with the labor market strategy.
The Ministry emphasized that these amendments are part of ongoing efforts to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by promoting national economic growth, increasing employment opportunities, and supporting the private sector’s contribution to development.
It also clarified that the implementing regulations and other relevant regulations will be issued concurrently with the amendments taking effect tomorrow, in accordance with the Cabinet’s decision.
