The Saudi Organization for Certified Valuers (Taqeem) concluded a specialized training course on expropriation of real estate for public benefit and temporary seizure of real estate, which was held recently, and attended by nearly 30 trainees, in cooperation with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
This is the first course offered by Taqeem Academy, the educational arm of the Authority on this topic, and is scheduled to be held several times during this year and next year according to the plan set for the training programs, and the course targets a segment of those engaged in evaluation work - before the entry into force of the resident system - and those interested in participating in expropriation committees for public benefit and temporary seizure of the property, knowing that this course will represent one of the basic requirements for experienced members of the evaluation committees.
This course comes as a prerequisite for the members of the evaluation committees. This training program comes as part of a package of integrated solutions that include automation of expropriation procedures to eliminate delays and shorten the time from the issuance of the expropriation decision to the payment of compensation, inclusion of internationally recognized valuation methods in the draft executive regulations of the system, in addition to the use of experienced members of the Authority in valuation committees to ensure efficiency, avoid conflict of interest, adherence to the code of ethics and conduct of the valuation profession, and tightening control.
