«Statistics»: 24.6% Non-petroleum exports rise to 28.4 billion riyals in April

The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) released today the International Commodity Trade Statistics Bulletin for April 2025.

According to the results of the bulletin, merchandise exports recorded (90.3) billion riyals, a decrease of (10.91%). According to the results of the bulletin, Commodity exports recorded (90.3) billion riyals, a decrease of (10.9%) in April 2025 compared to April 2024, and non-oil exports (including re-exports) increased by (28.4) billion riyals by (24.6%) compared to April 2024.

Non-oil exports (including re-exports) increased to (28.4) billion riyals by (24.6%) from April 2024. Imports increased in April 2025 to reach (76.1) billion riyals (18.3%), while the trade balance surplus decreased to (14.2) billion riyals (61.7%) for April 2024.

The results of the bulletin showed that the ratio of non-petroleum exports (including re-exports) to imports increased in April 2025 to (37.2%) compared to (35.4%) in April 2024, and the ratio of petroleum exports to total exports decreased from (77.5%) in April 2024 to (68.6%) in April 2025.

The results of the bulletin showed that the trade balance surplus decreased to (14.2) billion riyals by (61.7%) in April 2025. According to the results of the bulletin, "chemical industry products" was the most important non-petroleum export commodity, amounting to (6.0) billion riyals and constituting (26.4%) of total non-petroleum exports, while the largest imported commodity was “machinery, electrical appliances and equipment and their parts” which recorded (21.1) billion riyals and constituted (26.0%) of total imports.

The results of the bulletin indicated that the value of imports was (21.1) billion riyals and constituted (26.0%) of total imports. The results of the bulletin showed that the People's Republic of China is the Kingdom's main partner in commodity trade, with exports amounting to (11.4) billion riyals, accounting for (12.6%) of total exports in April 2025, and imports amounting to (19.0) billion riyals, accounting for (25.0%) of total imports in April 2025.
