Al Diriyah signs contract to develop commercial area with 400 local and international brands

Diriyah has announced the signing of a construction contract worth SAR 2.249 billion (US$ 600 million) with Salini Saudi Arabia (part of Italy's We Build Group) for the construction of the flagship commercial district of the Diriyah Square project, located at the heart of the project, within a unique master plan inspired by the authentic Najdi style.

Diriyah Square has been designed to develop the commercial district with 400 local and international retail brands in a unique Najdi style. Meydan Diriyah is designed to develop the commercial area with 400 local and international retail, entertainment and dining brands, focused on providing unique experiences for visitors, through a pedestrianized environment that provides opportunities for shopping and dining, and seeks to be the main driver of the future of the commercial and entertainment scene in the region, establishing Diriyah as a leading global destination.

Diriyah Square is designed to develop the commercial area with 400 local and international retail, entertainment and restaurant brands. <Salini is currently building a 10,500-car capacity underground parking lot beneath Diriyah Square, which will be among the largest parking lots in the world, including integrated bus service facilities, taxi and drop-off areas, as well as four underground tracks connecting parts of the master plan to provide easy access to the Diriyah Square parking lot. Salini is also working on the construction of all Diriyah Square facilities, including retail, hotel, residential, hotel, office, and the Grand Mosque, as well as the construction of the Diriyah Square.

400 commercial units

The contract for the development of the new commercial area in Meydan Diriyah includes the construction of (73) buildings, including (400) commercial units, on a total area of (365,340) square meters, with full implementation of the facades, finishes and interior fittings of the units. Each building uses traditional Najdi architectural designs to give an authentic Najdi character that reflects the 600-year history of the region, within a high-end pedestrianized commercial environment in the heart of Diriyah.
