Saudi Arabia topped the list of the largest Arab crude steel producing countries during the first eight months of 2025, according to data World Steel Organization cited by the Arab Iron and Steel Union.

The Kingdom's total production of steel ore reached 6.928 million tons from January to August, recording a growth of 11.9% compared to the same period last year, while in August alone, Saudi Arabia achieved a production of 1.007 million tons, a significant year-on-year increase of 64.1%.

In North Africa, Egypt tops the production list, accounting for 55% of the region's total production of 11.982 million tons during the first eight months of the year, while Algeria came second with 3.52 million tons, followed by Morocco with production of about 990,000 tons.
