His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Haqeel, is visiting the Republic of South Korea as part of an ongoing strategic path to enhance international cooperation in the fields of housing, infrastructure and smart cities.
Korea and Saudi Arabia have had an established partnership in this field since 2016, when a memorandum of understanding was signed in the housing sector, followed by implementation programs in 2021 and 2023, including cooperation in smart cities and urban digital transformation.
Cooperation has seen an evolution in the past few years, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Korea signing a Memorandum of Understanding in the housing sector, followed by implementation programs in 2021 and 2023. The cooperation witnessed a qualitative development in partnership with the Korean company (NAVER), which contributed to the establishment of the digital twin of the Kingdom's cities and the development of technical solutions that enhance the efficiency of urban services and the beneficiary experience.
This visit comes as part of a series of visits to Saudi Arabia. This visit comes within a comprehensive vision to enhance the integration between technology and housing, and exchange international experiences in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in building smart and sustainable cities that enhance the quality of life for citizens.
