First Saudi Maritime Transportation Conference kicks off in Dammam

The first Saudi Maritime Transport Conference, which will be organized by the Ministry of Transport and the General Corporation for Ports in the Kingdom, will be held during the first quarter of next year (1436 AH) in Dammam, and will last for two days, after the issuance of the approval of the Supreme Council for the holding of the conference activities.
For his part, Dr. Jabara bin Eid Al-Suraisari, Minister of Transport and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Ports Corporation, expressed his sincere thanks and great gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his generous approval to hold this conference. He pointed out that experts from countries, companies, houses of expertise and maritime organizations will participate in the conference in addition to the delegates of countries. In order to ensure that the first edition of this conference comes out in a decent form that suits the Kingdom's position on the international scene and the developments in all fields, especially in shipping and port sectors, a higher committee was formed to supervise the conference.
Dr. Jabara Al-Suraisri added that the conference will be a platform for discussion and a meeting place for expertise and competencies, and will contribute to enhancing coordination and cooperation between the participating parties and specialists. Many important research papers and working papers dealing with global developments in the maritime transport and ports industry and the latest technologies used in this field will be presented during the conference, and the exhibition accompanying the conference will be an opportunity for companies to introduce their products, and for workers in the sector to learn about new equipment, technologies and operating mechanisms.
