Abdulrahman Al-Ateishan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce, inaugurated the exhibition and toured the participating exhibitors’ booths, expressing his admiration for the progress made by the furniture and interior design industry, noting the added value created by the fusion of technology and the art of design, which has contributed to the sector’s development and produced significant designs that compete in both the domestic and international markets.
Al-Ateishan said that the exhibition was designed in an exemplary manner that makes it easy for visitors to choose the companies best suited to their needs. It also featured a variety of booths catering to the needs of Saudi families and other residents of the region who wish to learn about the latest trends in the world of interior design and furniture.
More than 15,000 visitors
,The exhibition attracted more than 15,000 visitors during its first three days. Mohammed Al-Ibrahim, Director of Public Relations at Dhahran International Exhibitions Company, explained that visitors expressed their admiration for the excellent organization and the variety of products offered by leading companies in the furniture and interior design sector, and features a variety of pavilions catering to the needs of Saudi families, noting the participation of 180 well-known brands from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, China, Malaysia, and other countries, all of which showed great interest in participating in the exhibition, He said that the participating pavilions are keen to showcase the latest products, trends, and innovations to a select group of interior designers, architects, and design enthusiasts in the Kingdom, He added that a number of economists expect the exhibition to generate business partnerships and deals valued at more than 500 million riyals, given the strong participation of companies seeking to compete by offering their finest and highest-quality products in this sector.
It is worth noting that the value of construction, building, and interior design projects in the Kingdom exceeded 2 trillion riyals last year, which indicates significant opportunities for domestic contracts through the end of 2014, and the exhibition will contribute to further growth and development in the design and furnishing industry.
