The General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities, in cooperation with partners and interested parties from the public and private sectors, is organizing the Third National Urban Heritage Forum during the period from December 8-11 in Medina, where several regional and international personalities and entities have confirmed their participation in the forum, which will discuss 64 research papers.
The forum is an opportunity to communicate with the local community, interested parties, researchers, investors and others to discuss all matters related to urban heritage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in general, and in Medina in particular.
The meeting of the organizing committee revealed the main features of the ”Third Urban Heritage Forum”.
In addition to the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities, the forum is organized by the Emirate of Medina, the Municipality of Medina, the University of Thebes, the Medina Development Authority, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Medina, and the Heritage Charitable Foundation, during which 64 research papers are expected to be presented, amid a wide international presence, in addition to laying the foundation stone for some heritage projects.
The forum will witness the inauguration and laying of the foundation stone for a number of heritage projects, including the inauguration of the Babtain House, Al-Jabarti House, Al-Tantura site in the heritage town of Al-Ala, laying the foundation stone for the restoration of commercial agencies and the remaining part of the night market in Yanbu, laying the foundation stone for the heritage hotel (Phase I) in Al-Ala, and developing the Al-Dur heritage market in Al-Ala in addition to signing a number of agreements and launching new initiatives, including the Saudi Heritage Hospitality Company initiative and the Islamic Urban Heritage Center at Taiba University in Madinah, as well as holding several events associated with the forum such as exhibitions and exhibitions.
