From January 5 to 7, 2014, Riyadh will witness the launch of the largest international Saudi exhibition and forum on transportation projects in Saudi Arabia (metro, trains, stations, buses), under the patronage of Prince Khalid bin Bandar, Governor of Riyadh.
This important governmental economic event is organized for the first time with the support of the Ministry of Transport, with the participation of various ministries, authorities, sectors, companies and government and private institutions responsible for the design, implementation and supervision of leading public transport projects, whose budgets, programs and systems have been approved in most cities and regions of the Kingdom, in addition to the projects that are currently being implemented (Riyadh Metro) or will be put up for competition in the near future. On this occasion, Hussein Al-Faraj, CEO of Ramtan Exhibitions and Conferences, the organizer of the exhibition and forum, said: «The exhibition and forum will introduce interested parties and citizens directly and tangibly to the features and positives of the upcoming civilizational shift of the public transportation sector in the Kingdom, which will be implemented over the next few years, and its economic and social impacts.» Al-Faraj explained that the patronage of the Emir of Riyadh confirms the importance of this first event of its kind and the pioneering developmental and civilizational projects it includes, pointing out that the forum accompanying the exhibition will be attended by a group of ministers, senior officials and leaders in governmental, semi-governmental and private sectors, bodies, companies and institutions, on the future of this system of public transportation projects and its economic and social impact and its contribution to urban, social and economic development, locally and regionally, through projects linking the Kingdom with a network of trains to transport people and goods with sister countries It is indicated that the exhibition and forum activities are witnessing
