The Saudi Green Building Forum (SGBF), as a non-governmental organization in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and an environmental observer, is participating in the seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) being held at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, from 8 to 12 December 2025, under the theme "Accelerating sustainable solutions for a resilient planet."
The Saudi Green Building Forum (SGBF) is organizing a side event prior to the opening ceremony entitled “Building the Future Together. <The SGF is organizing a side event prior to the opening ceremony titled "Building the Future Together: Local Solutions for Global Goals“ in the Green Room, with the participation of a number of international organizations and stakeholders from the public, private and civil society sectors, in the presence of delegations from Member States and UN Major Groups.
The Secretary-General of the Saudi Green Building Forum (SGF) said.
SGF Secretary General, Official Facilitator of the Business and Industry Major Stakeholder Group to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Engineer Faisal Al Fadl, explained that participation reflects the commitment of SGF as a constructive observer in the UN system and highlights the importance of local solutions as a bridge to implement global goals on the ground, noting that empowering local communities and promoting partnerships between sectors is the way to achieve balanced development that combines human and environment.
SGF's participation in the event comes with the participation of international organizations and stakeholders from the public, private and civil sectors, and in the presence of delegations from member states and major groups of the United Nations. This event comes within the framework of the Forum's role in representing Business and Industry Major Group organizations within the mechanism of key stakeholder participation at the United Nations.
