During its participation in the Cityscape Global 2025 exhibition in Riyadh, the Eastern Province Municipality signed a memorandum of understanding with Tahkam, in the presence of His Excellency the Governor of the Eastern Province, Engineer Fahad bin Mohammed Al Jubeir.
The agreement was signed by Undersecretary for Digital Transformation and Smart Cities Nael bin Ibrahim Al Haqeel and Executive Vice President of Business Development and Partnerships Mohammed Al Barrak.
The agreement includes the establishment of a dedicated electronic marketplace for service providers in the building waste sector, which aims to regulate the sector, raise the level of compliance, provide diverse and transparent options for beneficiaries, providing a competitive environment that supports innovation and the adoption of modern technologies.
This agreement is part of the Municipality's efforts to promote digital transformation and raise the efficiency of waste management at the level of the region's cities, and focuses on developing the management of construction waste digitally through automatic monitoring of violations, automation of procedures for issuing permits and dealing with requests, as well as improving and developing permit portals and landfills to support the speed of completion, enhance the reliability of monitoring and follow-up operations, and contribute to improving the experience of beneficiaries from individuals and establishments.
The agreement is part of the Municipality's efforts to promote digital transformation and raise the efficiency of waste management at the level of cities in the region.
