The the General Authority for Competition its awareness and guidance efforts by holding its third workshop, titled “Collusion Among Bidders in Public Tenders,” in collaboration with the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry last week. The workshop aimed to highlight, with the participation of relevant stakeholders, the importance of combating bid-rigging in all its forms, such as bid-stiffing, bid-withdrawal, bid-rotation, and market-sharing, and addressed the government tender system.
The workshop also reviewed general tips for protecting against collusion and clarified the difference between the competition system and the government procurement system. The event was attended by over 100 people from various government agencies and the private sector, and a commemorative plaque was presented to the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
