A large number of government officials, real estate professionals, and businesspeople welcomed the decision by the Council of Ministers, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may God preserve him— to transform the «State Property Authority» into a public agency named the «General Authority for State Real Estate» and to establish its organizational structure, noting that the decision serves the public interest, and works to enhance the performance and efficiency of state-owned properties. The Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for State Real Estate, Mr. Mohammed Al-Jadaan, affirmed that the Cabinet’s decision serves the interests of organizational operations and the development of government agencies, in light of the commitment of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud —may God preserve him—to enhance the performance of all government agencies as required. The Minister of Housing Mr. Majid bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Hogail also praised the Cabinet’s decision, noting that it works to organize and develop state property in a practical and scientific manner.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, presided over the Cabinet meeting held last Tuesday afternoon at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.Dr. Awad bin Saleh Al-Awad reported that the Council of Ministers reviewed the items on the agenda for its session and, after reviewing the recommendation prepared by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs No. (7–54/39/ d) dated 26/9/1439 AH, the Council of Ministers decided to approve the transformation of the «State Property Authority» into a public authority named the «General Authority for State Real Estate» and to approve the relevant organizational arrangements.
After reviewing the submission by His Excellency the Minister of Education, and after reviewing the recommendation prepared by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs No. (8–58/39/D) dated 4/11/ 1439 AH, the Council decided to amend the regulations governing the use of educational facility lands by private schools, issued by Cabinet Decision No. (65) dated 2/2/1436 AH, in accordance with the details set forth in the decision.
After reviewing the recommendation prepared by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs No. (29–49/39/ D) dated 7/9/1439 AH, the Council of Ministers decided to approve the regulatory guidelines for upgrading a municipality to a secretariat.
