Ministry of Municipalities and Housing and Saudi Water Authority (SWA) continue their joint efforts to address cases of water flow and leakage and reduce road flooding, within a regulatory integration that aims to improve the urban landscape and raise the efficiency of field response in the Kingdom's cities. The two authorities explained that Article (57) of the Water Law assigns the Saudi Water Authority the responsibility of addressing cases of water flow and leakage and breaks in water and sewage networks, while the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing is responsible for following up cases of road flooding and water gatherings that directly affect the urban environment and public safety; ensuring clarity of roles and accelerating treatment procedures.
They emphasized that this integration contributes to reducing environmental and urban damage and addressing visual distortion resulting from the flow of water outside the boundaries of properties or from internal networks and cisterns, in addition to breaks in networks, which are considered one of the most prominent issues in the Kingdom's cities. The Ministry and the Authority also called on members of the community to interact with the unified reporting channels through the "Baladi" application through the “Picture and Send” service, or through the Saudi Water Authority's website, emphasizing that early reporting contributes to the speed of treatment and limiting the aggravation of damage.
These efforts come within the initiatives of the “More Beautiful Cities” committee, which aims to organize the urban environment and promote integration between the competent authorities, in order to support urban sustainability and improve the quality of life in the Kingdom's cities.
