John Peronto, director of the Jeddah Tower project, confirmed that construction is proceeding according to schedule, noting that the project’s completion date remains targeted for August 2028 with no delays so far.
In remarks to Newsweek, Peronto explained that the tower has reached advanced stages of construction, having neared the 104th floor and reaching a height of just over 400 meters.
He added that construction is accelerating significantly toward the upper floors, with the upper observation deck on the 160th floor—known as the “Sky Terrace”—expected to be reached in about 60 weeks.
He noted that the current rate of progress is approximately 4 meters per week, which puts the project on track to reach a height of 500 meters within a period of about 25 weeks.
In October 2024, its subsidiary, Jeddah Economic Company, signed an agreement with the Saudi Binladin Group to complete construction work on the project—which is planned to exceed 1,000 meters in height—with a total contract value of 7.2 billion riyals.
According to the details, approximately 1.1 billion riyals have been paid for work previously completed, while the project’s implementation period is 42 months, as part of a plan to complete one of the world’s tallest towers in accordance with the highest engineering standards.
