Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Makkah, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the project to address and develop slums in the region, directed the preparation of a draft that includes steps to accelerate the development of slums according to a time plan that does not exceed the next five years, in preparation for discussion during the meeting of the ministerial committee scheduled to be held soon.
During his chairmanship of the committee's meeting at his office in Jeddah recently, His Highness stressed the need for the work to address the conditions of slums to proceed quickly and be done according to a specific timetable, stressing that the leadership is keen to complete the project and accelerate the pace of work in conjunction with the development projects in the holy capital and Jeddah in accordance with the regulations and the slum development regulation that was approved by the Supreme Council, stressing the need to correct the conditions of slum residents before starting development and treatment.
For their part, representatives of the government sectors related to the project expressed their readiness to work as one team to make the project a success, as it was announced that they are fully prepared to provide material and human support and everything that would accelerate the pace of work taking into account the accuracy of achievement.
The meeting was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Dr. Ahmed Al-Sinani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice for Judicial Support, Chairman of the Sharia Committee for the project to address and develop informal neighborhoods in the region Sheikh Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al-Faim, the Mayor of the Holy Capital Dr. Osama Al-Bar, Deputy Director General of Passports Major General Abdulrahman Al-Tuwairqi, and representatives of government sectors and agencies related to the project.
