the Royal Commission for Riyadh City launched the “Riyadh Meetings” initiative, designed to serve as an interactive dialogue platform bringing together experts, specialists, and the city’s partners to envision the future of the capital. Yesterday, it held its first session titled “The Urban Landscape of Riyadh,” at Qasr Al-Hukm, a venue that combines the symbolism of its location in the heart of historic Riyadh with its status as one of the most prominent contemporary architectural landmarks inspired by elements of architecture of the region, serving as a bridge connecting Riyadh’s heritage with its modern urban landscape.
The session was attended by a select group of architects, planners, and investors, who discussed ways to achieve the city’s renewal and continued growth without losing its unique identity, emphasizing that shaping the urban landscape is an integrated responsibility that encompasses planning land use, regulations, transportation, public spaces, the environment, and the urban economy.
The initiative’s sessions are scheduled to be held periodically to serve as an ongoing platform for exchanging expertise, supporting the development process, fostering investment opportunities, and enhancing the capital city.
