Innovative technologies and solutions to minimize medical errors at Saudi Health Expo

Posted in

The Saudi Health Expo and Conference, which recently concluded, the latest technologies, equipment, and advanced healthcare services that leverage technology to improve services for patients and advance healthcare. The exhibition provided an opportunity for more than 23,000 visitors—including decision-makers and specialists in the fields of medicine and healthcare— to glimpse the future and learn about the technologies and machines that have revolutionized the world of medical surgery in recent years—technologies that are designed to streamline hospital operations and reduce medical errors.

Device for Communication and Streamlining Medical Procedures

The exhibition also showcased a new mobile technology: the Dolphin™ CT50h, which is being used for the first time in the Middle East. The CT50h is an efficient device running on the ’ Android‘ operating system and combines a barcode scanner with the user experience and functionality of smartphones to help hospital staff communicate with one another, expedite admission procedures, and facilitate specimen collection, as well as expediting medication dispensing with greater accuracy. This mobile device is easy to use and allows hospital staff to view all patient data, the status of medical devices connected to each patient, and any alerts from those devices, and enables secure communication between doctors and healthcare teams from anywhere in the hospital.

Concept Technologies “The Connected Physician”

Many participating organizations presented a variety of innovative technologies and solutions that contributed to the automation of workflows and communications, and helping hospital staff realize the “Connected Doctor” concept by significantly increasing productivity, responsiveness, and safety—thereby achieving higher levels of patient satisfaction and enhancing hospital management efficiency.

Connectivity and networking are key factors in government initiatives aimed at enhancing the level of healthcare provided to citizens and residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and Honeywell technologies hold a prominent position in this field, enabling the company to meet the region’s needs for modern technologies such as: non-invasive sensors for measuring vital signs, IP-based nurse call systems, patient entertainment units, alarm management systems, and smart building automation systems in hospitals and nursing homes.

The "Connected Patient“ initiative

The exhibition also introduced the concept of "Connected Hospitals,“ which will integrate infrastructure and ensure rapid access to information for smarter and easier patient care. The ”Connected Patient“ initiative showcases technologies that will help improve patient health through effective monitoring both inside and outside hospitals, while reducing costs and lowering the rate of readmissions.
