Measures to support citizens
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God support him, directed, based on what was presented by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, a number of measures to support citizens, in conjunction with the announcement by the Saudi Energy Company and the National Water Company of amendments to the consumption tariffs, starting from January 1, 2027.
The support measures include increasing the monthly allowance by 500 riyals for civilian and military employees on the civil service scales and employment program items, retirees, and family members of a deceased subscriber or retiree subject to the social insurance system, in addition to monthly support of 500 riyals for families benefiting from social security, according to the mechanisms and controls regulating it, in the context of contributing to mitigating the impact resulting from the amendment of electricity and water tariffs.
The measures also include Saudi workers in private sector establishments, by raising the minimum wage required to fully count the Saudi worker in localization ratios within the “Nitaqat” program to 5,000 riyals, with the application to begin 6 months after the start of the procedure, then to 6,000 riyals after 12 months from the start of the first increase, which enhances wage levels and supports the sustainability of employing citizens in the private sector.
