Minister of Municipality and Rural Affairs inspects affordable housing project in Makkah

His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, recently inspected the Makkah Oasis Affordable Housing Project, which is currently being implemented in the Umm Al Joud plan in Makkah, with the aim of assessing the progress of work and the stages reached, where the minister toured the exhibition hall for the construction sites of the housing units and was briefed on the volume of achievement achieved on the ground, especially with the completion of the first phase of the project and the imminent start of handing over housing units to their owners, which number 500 housing units, which is witnessing continuous movement During his tour, Prince Mansour bin Miteb listened to a full explanation from Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Khuraiji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Makkah Oasis Project, who presented a report on the construction work carried out by the contracting companies and the most prominent achievements made so far, where Al-Khuraiji confirmed that the progress of work and construction is proceeding according to the scheduled schedule to make the project ready at the end of Shawwal to receive 500 Saudi families to live within the first phase, while work is underway to implement the second phase of the project which will include 1800 housing units.


Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Khuraiji said that the visit of His Highness Prince Dr. Mansour bin Miteb comes in the context of monitoring the pace of work in the Makkah Oasis project, reviewing the rate of progress and achievement and discussing the development steps and the extent of the developer's commitment to deliver the units during the coming period, indicating that His Highness the Prince is always keen to follow up projects that concern the welfare of citizens in the region, and closely monitor development projects that are consistent with the region's strategy aimed at stimulating and accelerating development, noting that the project is a pioneering experience to develop the urban form in the holy capital because of its contribution to creating new environments that enhance the lives of those who live in the project. It is worth mentioning that the Makkah Oasis project is the first public-private partnership project, 14 kilometers away from the Haram, with an area of about 670,000 meters allocated for the construction of 2,300 housing units in two phases, in addition to a number of commercial buildings and public facilities, where the construction of the first phase of the project has already started and completed, consisting of 23 residential buildings, between 6 floors and 3 floors divided into two geographical areas with a total of 500 housing units of large, medium and small size.
