At a cost of 4 billion dirhams: «Aldar unveils Abu Dhabi Plaza in Kazakhstan

Aldar Properties and Arabtec Holding have announced the award of a contract worth approximately AED 4 billion to a joint venture (consisting of Arabtec Holding and Consolidated Contractors) for the Abu Dhabi Plaza project in Astana, Kazakhstan. In a recent statement, Aldar Properties awarded the construction contract as the development company on behalf of the project owner, through its subsidiary Aldar Eurasia, noting that Abu Dhabi Plaza is a 500,000 square meter mixed-use project consisting of five towers, the tallest of which reaches a height of 320 meters. Construction is scheduled to start soon and the project will be completed in 2017.

«The Abu Dhabi Plaza project is an important part of the huge development taking place in Astana and Kazakhstan as a whole,» said Ali Eid Al Muhairi, Chairman of Aldar Properties, emphasizing Aldar's commitment to contribute with other UAE companies to Kazakhstan's developmental renaissance.
«The joint venture between Arabtec and CCC was chosen because of their proven track record in executing large-scale construction projects to the highest international standards,» he added, expressing his confidence that the project will enhance Abu Dhabi's position and become an international landmark for Kazakhstan.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Arabtec Holding, Hassan Abdulla Asmeek, emphasized the company's commitment to employ its track record of delivering the project to the highest international standards and within the specified timeframe.
According to the statement, the complex will include a five-star hotel, 566 luxury residential units, 107,000 square meters of office space, a 50,000 square meter shopping mall, and four large parking lots that can accommodate more than 4,000 vehicles.
