The Minister of Labor and Social Development, Dr. Mafraj bin Saad Al-Haqbani, announced the issuance of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - to address the conditions of workers affected by the violations of the establishments in which they work, indicating that the labor system in the Kingdom provides for the preservation of the rights of workers in private sector establishments, and created a balanced relationship between employers and workers, to control the contractual relationship between the worker and the employer, in addition to protecting their wages through legislation and policies approved in regulating the relationship, and ensuring that wages are paid on time.

In this context, His Excellency explained that the articles of the Saudi Labor Law and its executive regulations guarantee the rights of workers, and that the procedures prevailing in the labor market include the following:

Establishments are required to transfer workers" wages to their bank accounts within the Wage Protection Program and within the framework of the Kingdom's banking system, and the Ministry monitors these transfers on a monthly basis and punishes violating establishments by banning them from recruitment and internal contracting, in addition to financial fines. The Ministry also allows workers whose wages are more than 3 months late to transfer their services to another employer without the permission of the delinquent employer while maintaining their right to claim their late wages in the labor courts.

2. The ministry launched a free online service called "Your Labor Advisor" to provide free consultation services to workers and employers on labor market issues and contractual issues that may arise between the two contracting parties.

3- The Ministry, in partnership with Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC), provides a free SIM card service for workers upon arrival at the Kingdom's airports that includes general guidelines and mechanisms to contact the Ministry if needed.

4- The Ministry provides a service to its customers through a call center in eight languages, representing the most common foreign languages in the Saudi labor market, in order to facilitate communication with workers and resolve their issues when needed.

5. Increase the number of labor dispute resolution panels to 30, and increase the number of Supreme Court panels to 10 to facilitate the litigation process and geographically reach the Ministry's clients wherever they are.

6- The Ministry gives a worker who is affected by delayed wages or the employer's failure to fulfill his contractual obligations such as issuing or renewing work licenses the right to move to another employer, while continuing to claim his delayed rights with the original employer, or to leave permanently with an agent to claim his rights, or to stay with the company if he decides of his own free will to do so.
