Sky Prime Salem Al-Muzaini has been granted a license (as a national air operator for charter flights), with the Minister of Transportation and Acting Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al-Hamdan, presenting the license to the company’s CEO during a ceremony held for this occasion at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh.
Al-Hamdan emphasized during the ceremony that 2017 will mark an important turning point for the Kingdom’s air transport industry, particularly once licensed operators—namely Saudi Gulf Airlines, and Nesma, along with Sky Prime, during the fourth quarter of 2016—with the exception of Adil, one of the licensed national airlines, which is expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2017.
Al-Hamidan pointed out that the operating licenses for these companies will fundamentally address the shortage of seats that various regions and provinces of the Kingdom have suffered from for many years, emphasizing that this will achieve a natural balance in the Kingdom’s air transport market, thereby contributing to a positive impact on prices and the services provided to passengers.
For his part, the CEO of Sky Prime revealed that the company will use King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah as its two main hubs for operations, confirming that its first flights will launch before the end of this year, 2016, God willing.
It is worth noting that Sky Prime’s fleet includes a range of Airbus aircraft (340-600, 340-200, 300, 330, 320, 319), Gulfstream G-series aircraft (450, 550), Legacy 500 aircraft, and Venom 300 aircraft.
