Jeddah Development and Urban Development Company has allocated 220 housing units in the heart of Jeddah to receive Saudi owners living in the Ruwais neighborhood who chose the alternative housing, and the company indicated that these units can be delivered quickly if the owner agrees and the legal procedures are completed.
For his part, the Director of the Urban Renewal Department, Engineer Osama Ahmed Shehata, confirmed that alternative housing is one of the 5 options available to Saudi owners living in the Ruwais neighborhood, under which the owner is compensated with the deserved housing units, whether in the same development area or neighboring neighborhoods according to the value of his property, and from the support fund allocated for this purpose, and explained that an area has been allocated within the development boundaries with an approximate area of 6000 m2 with a total building area of 34000 square meters with an estimated number of 160 housing units, and 60 housing units were provided near the development area.
Engineer Osama Shehata, Director of the Urban Renewal Department at the Jeddah Development and Urban Development Company, pointed out that the area of informal settlements in the Ruwais neighborhood reaches 40%: The total area of Al-Ruwais neighborhood, bounded by Palestine Street from the northern side, Al-Madina Road from the eastern side, King Abdullah Road from the southern side and Al-Andalus Road from the western side, is approximately (3,029,000 m).
