Carpentry workshops and shops specialized in selling wooden doors and windows in the cities of Makkah, Riyadh and Jeddah have witnessed a significant increase in their prices: Makkah, Riyadh and Jeddah have witnessed a significant increase in their prices up to 30% due to the high prices of raw materials globally, in addition to the chaos of local markets.

For his part, the Sheikh of the carpenters' sect in Makkah, Samir Ahmed Mohammed Nahas, explained that the prices of wood have greatly affected the prices of the final product of local workshops and quarries, pointing out that this prompted many of those who preferred to detail and manufacture these products to be satisfied with the imported ones, as the work of most local quarries is currently limited to those with special requests, whether those whose size is not available in the import or that are decorated with special shapes for the customer. For his part, a member of the contracting committee in the Council of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Marwan Ahmed Nazer, confirmed that the uneven increase in the prices of doors and windows has become something familiar to all contractors, and with each new price offer comes the increase under the pretext of increasing the global raw material price, which confused contractors, especially since 70% of contractors rely heavily on products manufactured in local workshops that suit their construction designs and allow more room for change unlike the imported ones. In a number of exhibitions that market imported and local products, the prices of the doors offered varied greatly according to the quality of the wood and the size of the door, and the sales officer in one of the exhibitions in Jeddah, Mohiuddin Essam, said: This is the third rise in prices during this year due to the high prices of raw materials on importers, and we have noticed a lot of buyers who insist on offering them discounts, pointing out that door sales are the main activity of exhibitions and shops, unlike windows and windows, which the majority of buyers have come to prefer from aluminum and most shops provide them to customers by manufacturing them in local workshops. He added: The rise in prices cannot be determined due to the multiplicity of qualities, but it exceeds in some Chinese doors of Makno wood 30% compared to what it was at the beginning of the year and in other qualities of Swedish wood up to 25%.
