The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has approved (1,087) work regulations for private-sector establishments, since the Ministry launched its online service for approving labor regulations in private-sector establishments last Shawwal. It clarified that 1,039 of these regulations were approved electronically, and 48 were approved on paper.

This was revealed by Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Falih, Assistant Undersecretary for Inspection and Workplace Environment Development at the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, who emphasized that the service aims to help encourage investment by reducing the burden on business owners and making it easier for them to electronically approve regulating labor at their establishments electronically, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to make the Saudi market attractive to investors, thereby ensuring the development of the national economy and increasing employment opportunities.

Dr. Al-Falih explained that the service provides a model electronic work regulation prepared by the Ministry, and allows establishments to submit a request for approval of these regulations automatically, or to select the standardized template for the work regulations electronically without making any amendments or additions to it, and to follow the steps online until approval is granted and an electronic certificate is issued, or include additional terms and conditions in the template—provided they do not conflict with the provisions of the Labor Law—by entering the desired terms and conditions into the electronic template, The Private Sector Regulations Audit Department at the Inspection and Work Environment Development Agency will then review these additional terms and conditions and determine whether to accept or reject them.
