Next week, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God protect him, will inaugurate the city of Ras Al-Khair, which is located on the coast of the Arabian Gulf, which houses massive industrial complexes producing phosphate fertilizers, as well as an alumina refinery and an aluminum smelter, as part of the state’s focus on the mining sector as a source of revenue for the Kingdom.

This was clarified by Engineer Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Minister of Energy, Industry, and Mineral Resources

while addressing the audience as he presided over the first session of the 14th Arab International Conference on Mineral Resources, which kicked off yesterday evening in Jeddah. He said: “It gives me great pleasure to convey to you the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the patron of this event, and his welcome to all conference guests—including Arab ministers, officials, and participants. It is a source of pride and honor for us that the Kingdom is hosting this conference.”

Engineer Khalid Al-Falih said that the Kingdom’s transparent and explicit Vision 2030 includes, among its objectives, increasing the mining sector’s contribution to the macroeconomy from 64 billion riyals to 100 billion riyals in 2020 and to 240 billion riyals in 2030 This represents a significant acceleration in growth.

Minister Al-Falih called on all investors, whether local or from outside the Kingdom, to invest in the mining sector, noting that foreign investors have the opportunity to operate without a partner or in partnership with Ma’aden if they wish to benefit from its services.
