The Ministry of Housing has announced its intention to address the land shortage by launching a program in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and other relevant agencies to make use of their land in the coming period.

In a related development, Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr bin Abdulaziz, advisor and general supervisor of the Ministry of Housing’s Agency for Housing Support and Branches, denied that the ministry is currently planning any new amendments to the regulations governing housing support in Saudi Arabia.

Regarding the handover of housing units, His Highness explained that while the Ministry has provided a number of beneficiaries with housing units in major cities, it is currently focusing more on its role as regulator and supervisor rather than directly handling the handover of housing units.

He said that the Ministry has delegated the tasks of housing unit delivery to eligible recipients to the Partnership Program in cooperation with the private sector, noting that the Ministry, in cooperation with the private sector, intends to deliver new housing units to beneficiaries through off-plan sales in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, and that the units will be delivered within two years from now.
