The Saudi Contractors Authority signed a strategic partnership agreement with «Al-Bawani Limited,» which operates in the construction and building sector. The signing ceremony took place recently in Riyadh and was attended by Eng. Thabit Mubarak Al-Suwaid, Secretary General of the Authority; Eng. Fakhr Al-Shawaf, General Manager of the company; a number of Authority staff members; and officials from Al-Bawani Limited.
Eng. Thabit Al-Suwaid welcomed this strategic partnership, which marks the first initiative under the Authority’s partnerships and sponsorship program, noting that these partnerships between the Authority and construction companies represent an opportunity for strategic collaboration with the Authority to support its effectiveness and programs, which will play a key role in supporting the development and regulation of the sector and enhancing the efficiency of Saudi contractors. He added that one of the Authority’s missions is to establish the foundations, standards, and regulations related to the sector and its development to fulfill the aspirations of those working in this sector, which is one of the most important drivers of the national economy and the second-largest economic sector in the Kingdom after the oil sector, emphasizing that this commitment is in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the requirements of the National Transformation Program, and that the sponsorship and partnership programs are intended to strengthen communication between the Authority and the construction sector.
For his part, Engineer Fakhr Al-Shawaf expressed his delight at this strategic partnership—the first of its kind with the Saudi Contractors Authority—and expressed his hope that maximum benefit would be derived from this partnership, particularly for Al-Bawani Limited, and the construction sector in general, emphasizing that “Al-Bawani“ in this partnership stems from its full belief in the initiative to support all efforts to develop and regulate the construction sector, which stands out as one of the most important sectors contributing to the implementation of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program and the achievement of their goals. Al-Shawaf praised the approach taken by the Authority’s officials toward correcting the stereotypical image of contractors through the enforcement of regulations, laws, and mechanisms, enacting legislation that serves the sector in coordination with the relevant authorities, and reviewing the contractor classification system to ensure fairness, as well as providing information on government and private projects and tenders—all of which will help reorganize the sector, which is one of the most important pillars of the national economy.
